Why do people keep saying Starbucks have free wifi?

Starbucks doesn't have free wifi. Their wifi access is availale only if you have a T-mobile phone a/c & if you're paying an extra 20 dollars/month along with your phone bill to get the full wifi access at Starbucks.

7. well, i guess it varies by starbucks. The starbucks around my area (SF Bay area) doesnt have free wifi and if you wanted to go online, you gotta buy T-mobile hotspot.

   But a Starbucks 30 minutes away from me does have free wifi.
9. It depends on the area, some sbux have free wifi, some are in contract with t-mobile.
